Let’s not be Greedy
La Primavera / Spring has officially arrived!
This is the time of Growth and the show of Perseverance. You might begin to find a bit of skip in your step and lightness in the air. The vulnerability of Winter will now be loved in Colors. Many many beautiful colors.
I am absolutely enjoying writing these days between my Newsletters and Journal. It provides me an avenue of sharing my perspectives.
This Spring as the little buds begin to burst we can begin to observe the many colors of La Naturaleza (Nature). How easily we can be tempted to pluck these colors from the Earth to bring them into our homes.
My question for Victoria, can you choose to observe them right where they belong instead of plucking them? They are really here for the birds and the bees.
Flowers are so beautiful and they have such a gift of brightening our days, but but....In my mind, if we we were meant to have them in our homes, then why not live with them outside?
It saddens my heart each time she plucks a flower, bc they die so quickly as if they never stand a chance. And as she gets older she begins to understand that the animals need them just a bit more than we do. So now she begins to choose the ones that have fallen on the Earth instead.
One of the beauties of flowers is that they die. They are short lived. Like our fur babies, we know we only have them for so long or so short a time.
As more trees begin to be more removed from our lands, the pollen will need to find new home. And I am hearing more and more about sinus and allergies.
We can help the balance of Mother Nature bc planting more, picking less, and appreciating longer. If each person took the same stroll and each one plucked a flower what would be left for the animals?
When we practice meditation, we practice observation. The Indigenous tribes know their lands, the placement of the Standing People, the flowers that burst forward and feed the tiny little beings, the soil from which they grow and the cycles of the Soleil y Opal Luna.
The Cherokee call the month of March the Windy Moon and April is the Flower Moon.
The Winds clear the dead debris off the trees to allow proper light into the low lands for the Flowers to do their thing. How neat is that! How come they don't teach this in growing up?
With that said, the Into the Forest session, is where I am now taking private sessions outside to practice mindfulness, movement and meditation into the forest. This can be semi private or private and for all ages.
Here I will share wisdom from my Padrino (Godfather) who used to teach transcendental meditation in Puerto Rico. He used to take us to the ocean and the forests of Puerto Rico and would always say "Write it Down!" lol I learned so much from him and am forever grateful that this was introduced to me at such an early age. Gracias Padrino!
I encourage each one of us to play our parts, always first by learning our parts; a little more than normal to help preserve the lands we call our home.
In the meantime, Feliz Primavera! (Happy Spring)
maktub,
Claudia
